School News – March

School News

On the 8th March the children were greeted with balloons and a banner to welcome them back. The children who have been attending school, and all the staff, are so pleased to have the whole school community back together.

We are looking forward to the Spring and Summer terms, where the better weather will ensure we do as much of our learning outside as we can. This term we are participating in Active Discovery (a programme that encourages outdoor exploration), the Achievement for All’s ‘200 million minutes’ (which promotes reading by counting up how long we read for every day), Comic Relief and Voice 21 (a programme that supports improving Oracy skills in schools).

Our new library is also continuing to take shape, with new carpet and furniture ready for the new books to arrive. The ‘Library Space’ has a Space theme and has been paid for by parents, local businesses, and the school PTA. A real community effort that will be enjoyed by pupils for many years to come. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, and to the staff who, in their own time, have painted murals to make the library look ‘out of this world’!
