The school took part in Mental Health Awareness Week, and this ended with a ‘Dress to Express’ yourself day. The children chose their clothing based on an emotion, something that made them happy, or that represented them as an individual. Some children dressed in clothing that made them feel comfortable about themselves, or in onesies of their favourite animal, clothing that represented something they were interested in, or in a colour that expressed an emotion.
We have also had workshops to support the children with feelings of anxiety. The children made worry boxes/monsters and learnt about how their body feels when it is worried and what we can do to help ourselves when we are anxious.
Our Year 5 and 6 children visited Skill Zone in Gloucester to explore how to keep themselves safe in a variety of situations. This included fire safety, stranger danger and online. Our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children had a wonderful day at The Cotswold Wildlife Park. They enjoyed seeing all the animals and learning about their habitats.
