The new term has started with a visit to the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham to see the pantomime. We were finally able to go and enjoy the show after the snow last term caused us to rearrange the visit. Also, this term, the children are answering their ‘Big Questions’ through the curriculum. These include questions such as ‘What makes the World appear angry?’, where the children learn about volcanoes and earthquakes. The children take an enquiry-led approach to find out about the world around them.

Years 5 and 6 have had a visit from two magistrates to prepare them for this year’s ‘Mock trial’. The children will be taking part in this event later on this year, using all their oracy skills.

We are planning an art event to celebrate the King’s Coronation. We hope to involve parents and have an exhibition of the children’s artwork. We are also looking forward to our children being visited by a published author. They will be learning what it takes to get a book published and will be given some tips on writing and illustrating. It looks to be another busy term!
