Celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III
As the Coronation of King Charles III is an historic event for the country, the Parish Council feels that it is important that the village has a chance to get together to celebrate this special day. A modest budget has been allocated but we need a volunteer to take ownership of the organisation and co-ordination of the event.
We are open to suggestions, but initial thoughts favour a gathering on the playing field where people can bring their own picnics or buy from a barbeque stall, possibly some entertainment for children (the ever-popular bouncy castle) and if it can be arranged, some music, as there are some great local bands around. Being Britain, we would need some shelter in the form of a marquee (possibly borrowed from the barracks). Thoughts are to avoid the actual coronation day, as people will want to watch it on television, so the event could be held on the Sunday or bank holiday Monday. If you think you can help out please get in touch with Robert Cowley (siddingtonclerk@gmail.com) or Marcia Turner (marcia.j.turner@outlook.com).
