‘To have fun, do our very best and look after everyone in a caring Christian community’
Siddington Church of England Primary School is a small school serving the village and its surroundings. Tucked away down a single track lane, it is bordered by glorious countryside and a peaceful environment where children can learn and grow. The small class sizes help provide the support that the pupils need.
There are three classes with about 25 pupils in each class and a caring professional staff that deliver a broad curriculum. The school has strong links with St Peter’s church and throughout the year the children celebrate Christian festivals such as Harvest Festival, Advent, Christmas and Easter with activities like fruit and vegetable market stalls, a Christmas Fayre and Christingle Service, and an Easter egg hunt or Easter hat parade. The church community also provides an Open the Book assembly each week with Bible stories. At the end of each year there is a leavers’ service at Gloucester Cathedral.
The head teacher leads the school with a dedicated band of teaching staff and an active Board of Governors made up of the vicar, members of the diocese, Siddington community, the local authority, and parents.
The school kicks off each day with a breakfast club at 8am, but the actual school day starts at 8.55am and ends at 3.15pm. There are also some lovely after-school clubs which run until 4.15pm, Monday to Friday, for anyone who wants to join in.
